Surprise Me option randomly selects a key/mode/progression for you. Challenge yourself to make a song out of it.

I designed this to have the window open over my DAW session so that I could play the chords on a soft-synth or guitar. The goal wasnt to have this spit out an entire song (although you could try and do that) but to use it as inspiration to try chords that you wouldnt normally choose. That was the idea of generating a 32 or 64 chord progression. Just play through them until you find a part that sounds interesting, and use that as a scratch pad to build upon.

But then... I found how useful it was to import those chords into Logic Pro, and start my song with a chord structure that I could build upon. What a time saver!!! I could import and assign any instrument to the track, and have a chord structure to build upon. Copy to another track, use the root note for the bass track. Copy it to another track, and assign a simple arpeggiator and start getting a simple melody going. In less than 5 minutes you have a decent sounding song. It wont win any awards, but its mean to build upon and spark creativity.

Start playing with more exotic scales, and you will find yourself venturing off the beaten path, creating more diverse and enriching music.
